Name: indian
Subject:  to madhuri- hyper active child

i shall try my best to give you all that i noticed during these 7 years.

i started noticeing the changes the moment i started to put him into a paly home 2.6 yrs..you see until then you do have only a child and you do not find any difference in him..and most of all you have no experience in raising one.

at the play school.. the teacher told me in just one word.. He is a " naughty" child. i thought that is normal at this age..and i passed it off.

he went in to the big school at the age of 3.6 yrs. the teacher told me ´ naughty child" . but here she more discrpitive.this helped me to look into the behaviour of the other kids around him.. i could see the difference all with my eyes.

the things that you can notice in your child would be:

1.very restless.... rocks the chair, very fidgitive with hands... throwing pencils, playing with my thupata.they need to do something with their hand or legs etc.. list goes on and on
2.impatcient to wait for his turn.. be it school, doc. vistis. playing games..
3.if they do not not have any work to do.. just runs from one room to another.
4.very bad hand writing
5.very less concentration eg. give him a pencil and ask him to keep it on the table and ask him to take a book and come to you from the tabel. they will go to the table but bring the pencil back.. or shall forget everything while on the way to the table his toy car on the floor attracts him more so leaves the penncil there and does what he wants and forgets about everything we told him..
6. need all new things like activity books, old does not interest him at all.

but these kids are
good at studies, good at sports, they keep standards to themselves which is very high and try to do it before the time. very popular in school, lots of friends... very out going.... very inteligent..

with lot of hesitation i consulted a doc. at my native tamil nadu.. we are at bangalore ... so there was a refence give to NIMHAS..

the doctors gave me a medicine which i give him moring and eveing.. the side effect is drowsiness.. but these kids are so hyper that they over come it in a week. this helps the child to sit quitely and most of all.. utilise all parts of the brain to the full extent.

the difference i notice is ... hand writing getting better.. sits to a certain extent at least for the next 3 to 4 hours quitely.eg. helps in doing homework, and studies etc/..

do not compare my child with yours every child is unique. so keep this in mind .. but do not draw conclusions... hope this helps you..

try to give him/ her all kinds of activities... which will pin your child to a place...

being a mother of a hyper active child is itself a big challange.
best wishes.
