What happens in multiple births

Nowadays, twin deliveries have become safer and more successful because of the benefits of ultrasound and fetal monitors. This shows the exact position and condition of the second baby too. If it is a vaginal delivery, the second one normally arrives after a gap of 8 - 10 minutes. But it does not always follow through, in which case, the baby would need to be extracted.

When is a caesarian recommended

If there are three or more babies, the doctor would most probably recommend a caesarian section. It is not only easier on the mother, but it is also safer for the babies (since babies are most likely going to be premature and small).
