Frequent Urination and Leaking Urine (Stress Incontinence)

What is stress incontinence and what can one do about it

In the last trimester, some women leak urine when they laugh, cough or sneeze because of the increasing pressure of the uterus on the bladder. This is known as stress incontinence. Exercises that help tone up the pelvic muscles for delivery would help in this case too. In fact, it would also help prevent post-partum incontinence.

Why am I urinating so much

A few weeks before delivery, the foetus "drops" into the pelvis. This "lightening" or "dropping" (not to be confused with engagement) increases the pressure on the bladder and results in frequent urination.
