Tips for Dealing with an Unwanted Pregnancy

Here are a few tips to help you deal with an unwanted pregnancy:

Think Carefully -

Take some time out for yourself to carefully think over the options available to you. Discuss the options with your partner if need be to help you make the final decision. Take break from work and home during this period to avoid stress and other distractions which may influence your decision making.

Think About the Consequences -

Visualise the after effects of each of the options. Imagine what your life will be if you decide to keep the baby. Try to visualise your feelings if you decide to give your baby up for adoption or seek an abortion.

Keep the Father Informed -

Keep the father in the picture- and inform him of any decision that you take. There are numerous instances of men choosing to be single parents these days.

Seek Pregnancy Counseling -

Seek the help of pregnancy councilors who are professionals qualified to help you make a decision about what to do in such situations. Normally, councilors are expected to give an unbiased opinion in the matter since they are not involved emotionally. They will be in a position to think rationally and point out the pros and cons of each of the options for you objectively. An alternative to consulting professional councilors is to discuss the issue with a trusted friend or a family member.

Follow Right Regulations -

Women who decide to give up a baby for adoption may have to do a little bit of paperwork and research beforehand. It is essential to consider the laws governing adoption. Another important decision to be made is whether to disclose your identity and background to the adoptive parents or not.

Taking decisions about an unwanted pregnancy is not easy and can be time consuming. It may be a stressful experience which can drain you out emotionally. During this period it is important to take good care of yourself. It is best to abstain from drinking, smoking and doing drugs. It is also important to get prenatal care and pay attention to your physical well being.

Unplanned pregnancy can change the life. knowing the facts and using contraception reduces the chances of a pregnancy. It is not wise to have sex without contraception besides the risk of unplanned pregnancy, it also increases the risk of STDs and AIDS.
