Useful baby gift-wrapping ideas

Giving a baby a gift for the first time? Want to make your gift stand out amongst the others? Read on to know some unique gift-wrapping ideas useful for new born babies.

Archana was going to see her friend's baby for the first time. She had picked out her gift but she did not just want to wrap it up in

presentation paper. She wanted to find some way of making sure that her gift would stand out from all the others. Archana was not being vain. She merely wanted to be different.
Buying a gift for a newborn can be a chore in itself. However, finding a way to wrap it up and be different can be even more difficult. Traditionally, gifts were wrapped with basic presentation paper. If you want to make it a little fancier, you would add a bow or some other embellishment. Here are some innovative ways to go about wrapping gifts for a newborn.

Baby blanket

If you have a medium-sized gift, consider using a baby blanket to wrap it up. This makes a great gift-wrapping idea since the blanket itself can be used for the baby. Baby blankets are soft and look cute. Any parent would be delighted to have one. To use a blanket as a gift-wrap, place the gift in the centre of the blanket. Gather up the four corners of the blanket and hold them together above the gift. Then, tie the bundled areas of the blanket together, using a wide ribbon. You can tie a small stuffed animal or a baby toy to the ribbon for an added effect.

Baby bathtub

A baby bathtub can be used both as a gift and as a gift-wrap. You can gift parents a baby bathtub along with some bath items and accessories. Put the bath items inside the tub. Then, use a sheet of clear cellophane paper to wrap around the entire tub so as to hold the smaller items in. Stick a small bow on top of the cellophane paper. Alternatively, you could attach a small bath toy instead of the bow.

Storage baskets

A baby requires a lot of things like powder, diapers, wipes, etc. These are small items which can get easily misplaced. They can also cause a mess if they are left out unattended and someone accidentally knocks into them. Consider giving new parents storage baskets. These can be given singly or as a set. For aesthetic and practical purposes, a basket lined with some soft fabric works best.
These baskets are a great way to provide some much needed storage space. They may be kept near the crib in order to store the baby's diaper changing gear. The baskets can also be placed on shelves or on the floor to hold random items. This makes the basket truly versatile.
A set of baskets will usually come in different sizes; so they can be placed one inside the other. Fill the uppermost basket with a few small baby items. Place a bow on the outside of the largest basket for a decorative effect. Alternatively, if the basket has a handle, you could wrap some ribbon around it to make the basket look pretty.

Diaper bag

A diaper bag makes for a wonderful gift, as every new mom will appreciate it. However, there is a way to use the diaper bag as a gift-wrap as well. Simply fill the bag with baby items such as diapers, bibs, baby powder, diaper cream, toys, etc. Tie a brightly coloured ribbon around the handle of the bag and your gift bag is ready to be used.

Photo frame

If you are not sure what to get for your friend's baby or do not want to give a gift that has already been given, then a gift certificate or voucher is your best bet. This way you can give the parents the opportunity to buy whatever they want for their baby. A good way to 'wrap' a gift certificate is to put it in a fancy picture frame. This way, after the parents have used the certificate, they will have a frame for them to put their baby's picture in. The picture frame idea works best if accompanied by a certificate to the local photography store for a professional baby photograph.
No matter what the gift, you can always find a useful way of wrapping it. All you need is a little imagination to make the gift-wrap as useful as the gift itself.
