I lie sometimes to my kids when they do not listen. For example, if my child is making a lot of fuss while eating I tell her that if she makes fuss a policeman will come and take her away from me. Due to the fear she behaves well. I don’t think there is any harm in telling such lies to kids.

Although, lying to kids or lying in front of them is not good we have to lie because sometimes as kids are not capable to handle all harsh realities of life. It does not mean that parents should always lie to kids. But parents must try their best to inculcate honesty in their kids.

I try my best to be honest to my kids because I want to inculcate honesty in them as well. But sometimes it is very difficult to make kids understand something so it becomes necessary to lie to them.
